All of TAG’s Kayak ventures start from Yungaburra village where you will be met by your guide and transported to Tinaburra on the southern shores of Lake Tinaroo or to the Crater Lakes Eacham or Barrine. All guests will receive a comprehensive briefing on our double sea kayaks, paddling and safety.
Recommended gear comprises hat, long sleeve shirt, sunscreen and at least 2.5 litres of water – a hydration bag is suggested. Optional gear includes sunglasses, swimmers and camera and binoculars in a waterproof bag.

Kayaking for beginners – Half DayExperience the freedom of being guided yet independent as we explore tranquil rainforest fringed tributaries of Lake Tinaroo or the clear waters of the iconic Crater Lakes Eacham and Barrine, spotting unique wildlife and swimming in safety. |
Kayaking for beginners – Full DayThis adventure will take you up the Barron and Severin Arms of Lake Tinaroo, both being quiet back reaches where wildlife abounds. We enjoy a packed lunch in a secluded bay and have the opportunity of swimming before enjoying the beautiful mixed forest shoreline on our trip home. |
Kayaking for the adventurous – Full DayLeaving Tinaburra we explore along the quiet western shoreline of Lake Tinaroo making our way to ‘Giribana’ – a private lake front property where we stop for a delicious smoko and a walk through a reforestation project. We paddle to Tinaroo Village where we have the opportunity of swimming off the beautiful rocky beach like shoreline, marveling at the dam wall and wildlife viewing before our packed lunch. Our return paddle is via Pelican Point where we stop for a wildlife walk, time permitting. |

Jump on the ‘Barbie Doll’ a 7m BBQ boat at Tinaroo Village for a relaxing cruise home with the kayaks in tow. Enjoy afternoon tea with your feet up after a great day!!
