Experience our beloved mountain on foot!

Bushwalking guide at Yabi - Mount Baldy junction, Atherton Tablelands, Far North Queensland.
Bushwalking guide at Mount Baldy Summit with view of the Atherton Tablelands, Cairns Highlands, Tropical North Queensland.

Meet at the trail head where we tighten our bootlaces and adjust daypacks.  This is a steady yet challenging walk that undulates through open eucalypt forest which includes the 1109m summit of Mount Baldy and the adjoining 1055m peak of Yabi Mountain, offers impressive views of the Atherton Tableland and Lake Tinaroo on a clear day.

Our expected walking time is 2.5 to 3 hours.  Wear whatever you’re comfortable walking in but we recommend you bring sturdy runners / boots, a hat, wear long sleeve shirt and walking pants (long or short), bring sunscreen and two litres of water in a small backpack – we can assist with a spare water bottle if required.  Optional gear includes sunglasses, walking poles, binoculars and a camera.  Your guide will be carrying a First Aid kit.
